MTX thunbder 9500

I have a MTX thunder 12" 9500, 4ohm dual voice coil, and a MTX thunder 1501d amp. I have a couple questions....do I hook 1 voice coil to speaker 1 out and the other voice coil to speaker 2 out?....It says I need a 1/0 awg amp wire, I already have a 4 awg wire installed in the car, would it do the job or can I just run another 4 awg wire with the one i already have? It would be alot cheaper than the 1/o wire.

Yes you can hook it up like that. Monoblock amps parallel the speaker terminals inside. So a dual 4 ohm subwoofer would give a 2 ohm load. I think ur pushing ur 4ga to the limit, especially if its a lower quality 4 ga.
