Hello again, I own the system below:

HU: Pioneer DEH-4000UB

Speaker Amp: Hertz EP4

Front Stage: 2x Hertz DCX165 (soon to be Focal 165 A1)

Rear Stage: 2x Hertz DCX690

Subwoofer Amp: Kicker ZX300.1

Subwoofer: MTX XT12-44

Do you think upgrading the subwoofer to an MTX T5515-44 in a new vented enclosure will produce more bass? Is it worth the upgrade and around $100?

Just an update: Here MTX says I should gain about 8.44dB due to increased volume displacement. Is it any close?

That may not be true. Its dependent on the vehicle. It could possibly be louder but adding another 12 and upgrading an amp may be a better idea.

I'm not going to upgrade any of the amplifiers for the moment, especially the kicker that is just 3 days old

Adding a 2nd same 12" will require a lot more money and a stronger amplifier. I think 5515 would outperform 2x XT12-44 anytime.

if you already knew why ask? I dont think you will see a huge change, but it might be worth a shot.

I ask because I don't know how T5515-44 sounds, just in case anyone has ever heard this subwoofer before... So is it worth paying the difference and get the 15" one?

It sounds...decent. At best. It is about the quality of any other best buy woofer. I would recommend many other different subs over it.

That fits your bill nicely, as long as you put it in the correct ported enclosure.It is much cheaper also.

It will be much louder, and sound better than the MTX.

I can't stress how important the correct enclosure is though.
