i have one of those amps.. a 150 amp fuse before the amp would be perfect. in fact, it wouldnt be needed if there were one by the battery.. but another one right before the amp would be an extra prevention pretty much.

So should I just swap out the 250amp fuse thats in the 1/0 gauge coming from the battery with a 150amp fuse?

No, the fuse at the battery is there to protect the wire, if you're installing a fuse for the amp install it right before the amp.

Why not use a 1/0 to 1/0 Anl fuse holder? (Just an in-line fuse holer)

Well I just figured since the amp has a 4ga input I could just run that out to the amp. I could just get a 1/0 to 1/0 too though, either way would there be a large difference?

I thought the 1501D used a 1/0 in? IMO if the amp will use 1/0 you might as well use 1/0.

The mod on the MTX simply removes the protection circuit. Therefore it's modded to accept up to 18v input, and 1ohm daily.
