bout 1800watts, and I dont recall the chips u need to remove. Try to google it...

150.00 is a deal on the amp......

its a mtx 1000d . it puts out 1200 watt @2ohms at 12.5 volts......more at 14

and yes , you can mod it to be 1 ohm ...you have to remove a part off the board to disable the protection ......

the mod requires you to remove the protection chip. after dooing so there will be no protection of any kind so you need to be careful. it will disable the short, overload, dc offset and thermal protection. if you have a GOOD electrical system you can run that amp at 1ohm with out the mod.

i have the 81000d running at 1 ohm now on a dd 1508 without the mod but it is very power hungry. imo, i would try it with out the mod and see if it works good for you so you will still have the protection.

in the box in the pic , there will be a little resistor named q240 . you have to get that off the board....that is the mod to take the protection away......but like the vic says, you must have a good electrical or the amp will go poof!

a mtx 1000d does not have a compression circuit button....the 81000d and the 1501d has it...

the boards are the same between the 1000d and 81000d except for the compression circuit on the 81000d. there is no switch but there is a chip that has to be soldered out. serch amp mods for the 81000d here and you will see which one.

go ahead and try your sub at one ohm with that amp, if your electrical is good then set up your gain right and you should be good at 1 ohm.

keep in mind that the actual load the amp will see will/should be a tad higher with box rise.
