MtX 9500 vs KiCKER L7

wow, the type R comes no where close to the 9500 as a daily driver, sounds like *** if it's in an SPL box and doesn't get loud at all in a SQL box. I hope my friend quotes me here, we ran an 801d to his type R which sounded decent, then we through my 9500 and snailshell in his car and were setting car alarms off from 50 feet away and shaking the windows of schoolbusses with ease. I suggest you guys play around with a 9500, you'd be suprised of what the thing can do. There is a reason why it's MTX's top of the line sub and why it costs over three times the cost of a type r. You get what you pay for... always.

I dunno, I'm out, I respect your guys' opinions, that's what makes car audio such a great hobby, everybody has their own perspective on what they like, and that's what so cool about it. I can't wait to get my L7s, and when I do, I'll be sure to let you guys know what I think of them. Until then, peace and take care.

cone area does matter, you are correct, but the L7s have no where near the excursion that the 9500 has, remember that is key. Both are excellent drivers, which is why I'm switching to 4 12" L7s, I can get them for 135 each , which is dirt cheap. Otherwise, I'd get 4 9500s and 8000 watts if i had the money, lol.
do u know the dealer or something? or some place

you have made some pretty n00b statements...............

cone area and USEABLE x max matter eD did a super woofer test and (l7 wasnt used but a solox was) the 9500 came in 4th to 5th in alot of areas with its best finish as 2nd in peak vented spl. jl w7, diamond d9 , id idmax, kicker solo x, mtx 9500 and orion h2 . spl vented and sealed and listening tests vented and sealed

L7 gets my vote hands down. 9500 mtx wouldnt be a sub i would even think of when someone mentions "SPL" or juss anything. 9500 is paperwieght to me honestly
**** MTX stealing DD's '9500' label...they're trying to make it something it will never be, its the wannabee '9500' and we all know what the real 9500 is, and its not MTX!...they suxor and can lick my nuts.

I personally didnt like the way the 9500s sounded. They can indeed get loud, but like mentioned above, with the same power the l7 will shine no doubt.
