mtx 9500 /prefab sledgehammer good??

I am wondering what you guys think about these prefab boxes??? do you think i can get more outta this if i were to turn the box around or should i just build another box??? this is the box mounted in my wrx.... also my amp is mounted on the fold down armrest, there is a access hole so i was wondering if it would be more beneficial to turn the box around. Ahhh, you have the subaru, no?

The box is best built for the sub, not saying that yours isn't, but prefab boxes generally ****.

i dont think i can get a bigger box in there, but it is baffled and there is a sweet magnet support in there

Is it a prefab box or a box that someone else has built? To build a new one you don't exactly have to make it bigger.

I have that piece of shit box sitting in my garage for over a year, IIRC its tuned to 45hz, I suggest building a new one.

ahh fellow sledgehammer owner. although i do love the magnet support lol im gonna get a new box made if it doesnt sell. trust me when i say you can get more output/better response from a custom designed box. i called mtx and even tehy say the sledgy is too small for the sub. they told me 4-5 cubes if i remember correctly for my 15 and the prefab is only like 2

i have the sledgehammer box. it's good build quality, but it's tuned WAY too high.

turn it around and try it. if you don't like it then build a new box.

sooo true, it doesnt like the lows, and i can never turn itup with songs that have a long low bass line cuz it sounds funky like its about to botto mout. if mine doesnt sell i was thinkn about going with a clamshell or snailshell watever you call it tuned to like 30-34.

yeah thanks! so how much bigger do you think i should go??? I know that my lil john cd used to bump harder when i had 1 15" in a sealed box, but my slash metal sounds incredible...

what sub is it? it's not the 9500 because that box is silver (the one i have). unless thats painted
