i have never heard the mtx so i cant comment on it but i used to own the 13w7 and i would say it was the biggest waste of money in car audio i have ever spent. i had it hooked up to a jl 1000/1. i had the system for about a week then returned it.i just didnt like the sound and it wasnt that loud. go with a si mag.

how much sq are you looking for? i've heard both, never owned either, but i can tell you the w7 is way better in the sq dept. 9500 get louder though. imo the w7 is superior all around, but costs way more.

you're retarded. what "sound" were you going for? what box did you have it in? and what shop lets you return shit you don't like? sounds like a good deal if you got that going for you.

Actually I think the W6v2 is a better sq woofer. But for the price, I say go with Image Dynamics IDMAX. They perform like a W7 without that rediculous W7 price and sound alot better. JL is WWWWWAAAAAAAYYYYYYYY overpriced.

ive owned 2 12" W7s off one 1000/1 and it was **** loud...just not loud enough for me...i never hooked up the other 1000/1 tho so idk but id go for the 9500 because i believe those are louder just a loss in some SQ

don't you already have the w7? i would say stick with that. my only complaint about them is the lame 3 ohm VC. as long as you can find an amp you like, then my vote is for the JL

Get a Fi Q, a Mag or a DD 3512, you will be much happier.

Ive owned both a single 12" mtx 9500 and a W7(13" of course), both in boxes built to manufacturer specs and the W7 did whoop the mtx's *** in SQ but hands down the 9500 was louder. Both were powered by about 1600 watts.

i have a freind with 2 9500 12s and the sound quality on them are alot better compared to two other freinds who have 2 w6v2s...the 9500 beats them all around..great subs

the w 6's must have a horrific install then. those are some quality sq woofers. 9500's cant come close if both are in good installs.
