Mtx 5000 12" question..

Me again guys. just trying to narrow down which cheap sub im gonna get. Anyone know anything on the mtx 5000 series 12" sub? I heard some sealed but i would like to port this one. Will it work well ported?

i wouldnt port it i had a pair in a seal box and they did pretty good hell bassrace a 129.9 with them under my back seat of my truck

I ran 4x 15"s in my Mazda extended cab in a 12 cu. ported enclosure and they worked great. 3 cubes each w/ no problems at all. That's the 15's though. 12"s should be fine ported. Don't know what size box though.

thanks guys, and Revrider, im only trying to spend like $50.00 max. I know its not much but the key word here is "budget" system,lol. Just something to get my by till spring.

I have heard them once, sealed and they were impressive. Very accurate in responce for a cheap sub....

Try the Alpine type E in a sealed box. its cheap and sounds pretty good for a Entry level sub.

The E is nice, I used to run 4 10" sealed on 1000watts and it was suprisingly loud. Both are nice subs...

My friend has 2 12" 5500's in a pro box and it sounds amazing.

i wouldnt port it eather. i had 2 5000's in a sealed prefab box in a cadi deville and it was great. had em in a 4cuft in a honda van, it was great. the box was 8cuft all togewther but was devided with an alpine type E in a 2cuft section. it beat very hard
