MTX 1501D or KICKER kx1200.1????

Im looking to get 2 kicker 12" l7's (dual 4 ohm) and was wondering which amp would i get better sound out of? if i get teh 1501d i would mod it to run 1 ohm...and i can get either amp for around 400 bucks? any suggestions?

just get the kicker then there would be no need to mod it. solid amps. i've seen a lot bench at over 1500 watts rms.

my brother has 2 15" thunder8000's with the mtx 81000D amd and another 2 channel amp running off only an optima battery and his lights are dimmed or anything...the rest is stock...

i can never get a reply favoring just 1....hehe so im assuming there both really good to do the job...and supposidly u just have to cut 1 thing off inside the MTX to mod it...so perhaps i will get that...iim curious of what it will put out running 1 ohm...

I have the older MTX 1000d Wich i guess is pretty much the same and the thing is a tank. Very powerful and(watch out)power hungry. This amp still blows me away. puts out 1250 watts at 12.5 volts.Never Tried a kickers,so can't compare, But wouldn't trade my amp for anything.(well maybe an orion 2500d LOL).

You can picked up a used 1501d on the forums

There was/is a guy on here that had 4 of them for 235+ship a piece...might try contacting him or looking around?
