Hey,

I made sure to set the bass and eq to flat and ran a 1 hz incremental frequency sweep from 30 - 55hz (recording the db measured on my EPIC-150 at each 1 hz interval)....I did this 3 times and got the same consistent numbers...

The graph is below:

I like the 30 - 45 hz response, it's +/- 1db but from 46hz to 55 it starts to climb...

1) Does anyone know if this is just because the MT is an SPL sub?

2) Anybody ever plot their sub response like this?

I'm not too worried...I can probably smooth it out some with some EQ'ing...

At least I know I should be burping right around 51 hz //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif

It is a ported enclsoure, of course it is going to be peaky like that.
//content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif Yeah no doubt...

The pretty high up peak suprised me...I guess I should have clarified that...

umm you do know that low of a volume testing is completely and utterly worthless right?
Well no...obviously I can repeat the testing..no sweat...is there a target db level then? How it is invalid when I will listen at that level?

You do realize that, that is up to 110 db?...I normally listen from 110 to 130'ish ( and blast it occasionally)...

I can test at higher volumes but not sure it's any less valid...so tell me how this is worthless again?

because testing at a low volume is not accurate at all, when compared to a higher volume.
No sweat, I can re-test...so what db level should I target for the re-testing?

I'll come back plot it up and repost the data....

I'm sorry....let me clarify...I'm testing this for DAILY bumping response....I think my burping comment confused folks and I apologize for that //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif

You folks were right, if I were testing solely to find my optimum burp frequency -- I would test at peak output...that wasn't my intent at all here....

still do you ride around every day listening to it at 105 db? if so why even have a sub lol

test it where you listen to it //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif

Cool, here goes...be back in a jiffy...

Here's the latest graph:

And yes on the way to testing 110db is quite pleasant for just listening too....

The point was that nasty spike from 46 to 52 hz...just curious mostly...
