Hi all first post. Anyway i have an mrx-v60 and it is my current mids and highs amp. Works great till i crank the volume up on some songs with extreme highs. Amp goes in to protection mode and im left listening to my subs only. I think maybe im having a voltage drop issue but not sure how to find out. Havent noticed any dimming or anything and the jetta doesnt have a volt gauge. Does anyone have any idea what would cause this? How to test drop if any? Hell any info would be greatly appreciated! Thanks yall

Oh yeah and if it matters the headunit is the avh-p3300bt till monday then im getting the avh-p4400bh. And the speakers are focal 165v30's in the front and cs165's in back and have a kac-7302 for my kicker cvr 12's. Thanks!

Buy a dmm or some form of volt meter and see what ur dropping to.
I have a dmm but do i put the leads on the power and ground of the amp or battery to test this? Sorry im still a rookie when it comes to electrical stuff. Thanks for your quick reply.

Can an amp overheat in 10-15 seconds from turn on? Right now both are mounted on top of the sub box in the trunk. I can put some spacers under it so it can car bottom air flow too and put a fan at the front so it gets more air flow...
