I am completely new to car audio. I recently purchased a car from someone who left their amps in it, so I figured I might as well buy a couple of subs. The amp for the subs is an Alpine MRD-M500. A friend recommended a pair of Kicker Comp 12s, so I picked those up from Amazon.

After wiring them in parallel, I ran them for about a week without tuning them simply because I had no time. With the help of a friend, I got them tuned, and they were sounding really fantastic...for about half an hour. I took a call with the Bluetooth integrated in my Pioneer head unit, and after that, nothing. The subs made no sound whatsoever.
I checked all the wiring and fuses, and everything is in place. I tested the subs by plugging them in to the other alpine amp that runs the rest of the speakers, and they work.
That leads me to believe it is an amp problem. Does anybody have any idea what it could be? Could something within the amp itself been blown? I read somewhere something about the MOSFETS being blown for other people. Should I try replacing those? Should I simply buy a new amp (after I get this one tested)? I'm no audiophile so I really don't worry and wouldn't be able to tell the difference between a cheap amp and something made for sound quality.
Thanks for any help!!
