Moving my soundstage farther foward

i feel like my windshield tweeters do a great job of bringing the soundstage up but i honestly dont even know what its supposed to sound like if we're getting super SQ in here lol

i also have 6.5 components in the kick panel, and active 6.5s in the door

REW should

The only sq build I have set in wasn't a stock class build. I feel like for as lil money as I have in mine, it sounds pretty good. The sq car I set in was kinda in your face sounding and very loud but not harsh at all.

A good car will immerse you in sound. If the music is in your face it will be. If the music is soft it will be.

What kinda music are you listening to? Jenneifer Warnes "The Hunter" is an f'ing masterpiece if your into that type of jazz and is an amazing recording. I'm a metalhead for the most part and still listen to it once a week just to be impressed by it. Got a little low end as well...
Dang I can't find it on iTunes. I guess I'll have to goto Walmart and get the cd.

I think it's out of print. When I lost my first copy I had to order it's replacement from Germany. I'd try the artists sight or ebay.

Personally what I see, influences the depth I hear. When my windshield is dirty the depth stops at the windshield. Doesn't matter what I'm listening to. But clean windshield, and especially at night, everything opens up and it really sounds good. The same applies for me in home audio, I like speakers about 5 feet away from the rear wall if possible. Surround sound rear channels also help with depth IMO.

To address the original question or goal stated in the thread title, I think what you actually want to accomplish is to move the front of your soundstage more toward the hood. Depth refers to distance between the front of a virtual stage and the rear of the stage, such as when we'd have a vocalist at stage front and center with the drummer typically at the rear of the stage relative to all other members of the band.

There are many possible ways could improve the sound of your vehicle. Adding a second pair of tweeters is one way to do it, but doing it right takes more than just wiring the new tweeter pair in parallel with your current speakers.

This is exactly what I'm wanting to accomplish. I haven't had time to set down and mess with my eq to see if that will help.
