Motorola Droid or HTC HD2

The HTC runs WinMo IIRC, which means it's a crippled piece of crap. Probably good hardware, and HTC's Sense skin ALMOST makes WinMo useable, but I would stay away.

However, unless a hardware keyboard is a must, I would go with the Droid Incredible. I used the hard keyboard on my Droid once, on the day I got it, and haven't touched it since. The Android soft keyboard works just fine, and the Incrdible's extra speed would be welcome (although the Droid isn't slow by any means).

However, if you're willing to wait a little while, Motorola will soon be releasing two new Droids (Droid X and Droid Shadow), both featuring the Snapdragon processor.

The moto Droid is still the better phone is my opinion. Snapdragon processors are POS. The incredible is a nice phone, but my Droid still puts it to shame in my opinion. (had the opportunity to test the incredible)

If you are also considering "rooting" your droid (unlocking it so that you can try out different roms and overclock the processor) Then the moto droid is definitely the phone. With mine rooted and overclocked from 550mhz to 1.2ghz the Droid flies and runs like a dream. And until the HIGHLY secretive Droid Pro comes out supposedly this holiday season around november or december with its 2+ghz processor, supposedly using Nvidias Tegra chipset there will be no Android phone that can truly compete with the Moto Droid. This is my opinion coming from my personal uses and from information i have recieved on upcoming Android devices.

Ordered the android yesterday and it will be here sometime today...first smartphone ive owned...wont have much to compare it to.

Also a phone with a 2+ ghz processor? Wouldnt that be overdoing it? The HTC only has like 6 hours of battery life on the factory battery...hopefully they will add a good battery to the droid pro? Instead of forcing people to buy a couple other batteries or alternative charging methods like the battery pack or solar charger thing.

You would think it would be overkill, but the Droid Pro is supposed to be packing every imaginable thing for a phone lol. And the battery life is supposedly spectacular. The nice thing about the Nvidia Tegra chipsets is that they are EXTREMELY power efficient. If you've played with a Zune HD, you obviously know the HD would be a power hog, but it uses the Tegra chipset is able to run as long as an iPod while running at a much higher quality (resolution, video, etc).

Oh and another reason to get the Moto Droid. 2.2 update is coming soon and is supposed to have flash with it //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif

And you seem to confirm that among other things, the device to which you are referring is a....drum roll please...

PHONE!

I rest my case. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/fyi.gif.9f1f679348da7204ce960cfc74bca8e0.gif
