I Miss My Caddy :(
I have a DD9518G and i am gonna be burping on a 5 amp audiopipe fuse for m1 in meca this season i also have a few new special fuses to test when there shipped from the manf. company. but the most i expect any fuse to allow thrugh is 120amps i currently have an audiopipe 3k an i wanna get a efficent amp that does more than 2000 watts any rec...

The most efficient amp is one that you drive into protect because while in protect mode, it draws no current!//content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/nerd.gif.c6fa51ddf7ff75f1c0371fbc648f70ae.gif

Edit: You are asking for the impossible by wanting to burp a sine wave through a 120 amp fuse AND producing 2,000 watts RMS. Remember Ohm's Law... Volt x Amps = Watts.

Assuming 16.67 volts and 100% efficiency, you would be able to reach your goals. (16.67 volts x 120 amps). Unfortunately, I haven't seen many class D amplifiers on the market that have a real world efficiency performance much higher than 80%. Stetsom claims higher efficiency, but I don't believe them.

also i know i wont achive a full burp but i will achive a score the higher the efficency they higher the score

There are lots of class D amps that are 90% efficient at full swing.. also if he is using a 120 amp fuse he should be able to get substantially more current for only a few seconds..

no im useing a 5 amp fuse that will let about 100 to 120 through on a burp we tested it its one of the old mismade audioipe

Well even efficient big amps are still "power hogs" since they all pull tons of current to make power anyway. Why not just get another AP30001D? They're cheap and runs good.

Mine's currently sitting in my closet waiting through the winter cause I donno if it's gonna like below zero degrees.

I thought that was a type-o

I guess I'm unfamiliar with the crazy type of spl class only lets you have a 5amp fuse... ? is that for extra points or something ?

Try Sundown,Mmats,Atomic,Sound Digital,DD,Stetsom,IA, all make very well built amps that are efficent and are very durable for burp use, just get the best amp you can get for what you can spend , and test and make adjustments to get your highest score, under the fusing you need to stay in M1, or add a second AP3000.1 and move up to M2

I believe these are now DQ'ed, you might want to ask Steve before showing up with those btw

And first there were cheater amps...now cheater fuses. LAME!!! If they want a fair competition, thy should provide a spec fuse at the competitor's meeting at the beginning of the comp. Use any other fuse and its a DQ.
^^^ Yeah really.... How can anyone have a fair playing field if they're cheating all around? A cheater amp is one thing, but cheating on your current demands breaks the basic rule of the class you're in!

I wonder why everyone in SPL is so focused on ungodly power numbers instead of making a Solid vehicle that transfers the sound to the mic? There's a reason people have used things like tile, concrete, and other heavy materials. I don't even see much bracing, let alone anything remotely solid with the amount of flex people seem to like to show off in their videos....//content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/rolleyes.gif.c1fef805e9d1464d377451cd5bc18bfb.gif

Most efficient amp? Amps using BASH technology approach 97% efficiency, according to their claims. I can't find any in car audio right now...

Class GH are very efficient. Too bad this amp only puts out 500W RMS, but its strappable. Check out how small it is! Crutchfield is wrong, its 8.3" not 11.5/8"!
