Most comfortable shoes?

I am buyin' new shoes. I want something comfortable. I had a pair of Air Speeds from Wal-Mart, (Yes, I'm a low class person, and can't afford much) which have been the MOST comfortable shoes I have ever wore. So comfortable, I have bought 4 pair in the past 2 years. I went to Wal-Mart to buy a cheap pair to drive down to Texas in, and bought some Athletic Works 'skate' shoes, and they were the MOST UNcomfortable shoe ever. I didn't expect them to be the best since I only paid $10 for them. I couldn't stand wearing them, and they were rubbing Achilles tendon raw. I went to Ross the day after I got here in Texas, and bought some Converse 'skate' shoes. They are very comfortable, but the seem as if they will wear out quickly, because the sides are fairly thin. Anyway, what are the most comfortable shoes you have ever wore, that have been under $70? I like thick shoes, if they are skate shoes.

I have some new balance 578 shoes. Have had them about 6 months and they seem to be holding up great. My feet never get sore or feel bad and I stand for 8 hours at a time at work and walk a lot at school.
