Housed inside is 4 eD 8s. The final nomial load is 2.6 ohms. Bandpasses are kind of a ***** to build so I won't be building another prolly.

I think it came out rather well. It looks more like an old piece of furniture than a glossy new toy. The ends on the back are kinda rough so I may sand them down.

I thought the edges on the top would give me a problem but they just made a more "aged" look.

Another thing I learned dealing with staining birch is you never know what you are gonna get. There was some scratches or something in the wood that are ordinarly invisible, but the stain brings them out. I think it adds character

Now, on for the pics:

You going to throw some polyurethane on it? Will look 100% better if you do. I've built a few stained BB boxes in the last month or so and the poly makes it look much better.

I like the green. Next box I do will have to be a colored stain...

I hate the color...

The stain looks VERY uneven. I suggest sanding down as much as you can or getting some stain remover and starting over. Well, that is unless you like the look of the stroke lines.

What did you use to stain it and did you remove the excess when you put it on?

I think that for the first time ever, I agree with you 120%.

Let alone the wood you have there is terrible for staining. Everything at lowes and home depot, whether it's oak, pine, birch, beech or ash plywood is all the same. The only difference is the veneer. They all have the same shittily made core with voids and cracked wood riddled throughout, then they slap on various veneers and sell them at different prices. How do I know this? I've used them all. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/wink.gif.608e3ea05f1a9f98611af0861652f8fb.gif

The streaks came out with additional coats. I also rubbed on it with a towel to try to make it more even. I would throw the box in the trash before I bought stain remover. That cost more than the wood.

How do I know this more? I sell the shit.

This is stronger than mdf. I know for a fact because I can use this as a ramp for a cantilever whereas mdf breaks.

I just wanted to try it. I paid about $3 for the wood.

With all due respect, what the **** did you do to the finish? This plywood thing is really getting out of hand.
Like I said, some things come up afterwards that the stain brought-out. There are some scratches and stuff that you cannot see or feel, but when you stain, they become more visible. How do I prepare for things I cannot observe is beyond me.

No, you don't understand. The fact that it is stronger has NOTHING to do with car audio construction. Any box, of any size, whether it be MDF or plywood will require the same bracing no matter what. You will NEVER see the strength advantages in car audio construction. Home audio is a different story, and then, you don't use that type of plywood (13 ply which runs ~60-90 dollars). You are throwing away money, I don't see why people can't realize that.
