Mono amp or not?

Just got my Kenwood KAC-X1R in and it says mono right on the **** thing yet it has 2 positive slots and 2 negative slots just like a 2-channel amp would. So whats the deal with that? Monos are supposed to have 1 pos and 1 neg right?

Also what is the best way to get a 2ga wire into the power and ground slots on the amp when the holes are not big enough? just strip the wire a little until it fits? There has to be a cleaner way.

if it looks like this, your power and ground are on the left side of this pic..

To get the wire to fit - you'll want a reducer:

But remember if you reduce the size of wire, you'll want to fuse it so you dont blow shit up.

I know where the power and ground are located, or were you talking about wiring a sub in? just use the left sides of the speaker input? or wire it like you would bridge a 2chan amp?

And an inline fuse would do to protect from blowing things up right?

C'mon man, they're paralleled inside. It's ****ing mono, okay? It's just a provision for the convenience of more hook ups.
lmao, i didn't know that, I didn't open the amp I just looked at it and said wth 2 of each inputs but it's mono? Hows that work?

so thanks for answering, it makes sense now. I assume you could just wire it up any way I wanted 1 on the pos and 1 on the neg of course.

Also the 2ga wire I have should fit in the amp fine, i just thought there might be a cleaner way like how you use the fork terminals for the speaker wire instead of running straight wire into the amp. Or using ring terminals for grounds instead of just forking the wire and using a washer to pin it down.
