Mmats Juggernaut - Completely Custom 15" - DD/AQ basket, CF cap, 8ga leads, more!

Work looks perfect, but I havnt a clue what Im talking about. The cap sure looks shiny though! //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif

Sorry to be a bit off topic here, but as a person who likes to build things myself and know how they work, could you point any of us in the right direction who might like to know more of how woofers are built/work, where to buy OEM parts (consumer use, 1 at a time) and such? I wanted to try my hand at maybe a cheap little 8" woofer. Perhaps I could get a functioning speaker together, Im just not sure where to start. I would of course need to know what type of spiders to use, what sizes will fit, etc. Ive not a clue if theres charts for these things or if you just learn as you go. Im still rather new.

Thanks either way, and the work looks great. Dont mind the 'haters', as you said they just feel threatened. Keep up the good work.

Honestly, one of the best places on the net to see speakers being built, parts made and assembled, repair and reconing questions asked, is our FixMySpeaker forum. You'll see all sorts of subs being built from scratch, reconed, customized. We have tutorials about stuff... yada yada. I'm not going to directly link it here, but it's listed on the home page of our website.

Our site also offers tons of parts, services, etc. There is a service request form, contact form, web store for parts/service, user accounts for messaging and to keeop track of orders and requests... just lots to do with speakers and repairing them.

Ummmm ?? I was being facetious.... RE has never used stitched Tinsel Leads. David is using different spiders all together than what RE has used or is using. I added the DC and IA because David has helped them (Rusty and Nick) out in the past and since they are all using more similar parts than what RE is currently using, I stated that maybe David stole from them being ironic. So, sorry you were offended by not understanding what was going on in my post. David has poked fun at me in the past so I get to give it back now and again to him.
He does great work and can build quality products but, he is an incurable kleptomaniac and this is why RE left him (and not because Daniel Kim is THE "MASTER" of everything that is sound and ran US Amps so hard into the ground that he has to use the little credibility that RE has left to try and hock his wonderful 30 second before self destruction amplifiers go out or JR can't move their wonderment. Ohh wait, not even JR could sale their greatness so he got fired and he can shuck HSL crap but couldn't give away their awesomeness anymore).
lulz, i feel pretty dumb for not catching the joke, i apologize. I wasnt defending Dave and i really dont care about RE so i wouldnt know. Dave does amazing work but his prices are way too steep for me to justify paying for it. So again, i apologize for going off when i didnt catch teh lulz.

I remember hearing that the juggernaut motor is the same as a DD 9500C series. Any truth in this?
More or less, yes. It has the same inner gap dimensions, cooling holes in the top plate, etc.

From what I know DD/Resonance made some of the first Juggernauts for Mmats, but don' hold me to that.

The motors are close enough to call a copy, but are not exactly the same. The pole doesnt have the same cooling, and the pole vent is set up differently. Also, the magnets on this style Jugg motor are actually smaller than the magnets used on the 9500's by just a hair.

Its 90% the same. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/confused.gif.e820e0216602db4765798ac39d28caa9.gif

SICK sub!!! and I'm also interested in building my own speakers. I'm guessing you need quite a collection to start "Frankensteining" subs together lol
Well, we're not really "Frankenstein'ing" them. We are a company who specializes in this sort of repair. We've ben building subwoofers for a loooong time.

The parts come with the job I guess (unless you steal them from RE or Fi). //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/biggrin.gif.d71a5d36fcbab170f2364c9f2e3946cb.gif

what would a sub like this cost to buy ?
what kinda power can it take ?

I like it its very pretty
We can build complete subwoofers that are made in a similar fashion, but this was made for a customer who sent the motor asembly to us to have the rest designed and assembled. You could expect to pay $125-200 for a build service like this, using your own motor, depending on the number of custom add-on's, coloring of parts, etc.

We built it to run off 1500-2000w rms for the customer.
