Ok I have a few questions. NOTE: This is going in a Chevy 2500 with a camper shell window open so all this is going in the bed and to be pointed though the window opening.

I was told today not to mix sub sizes IE 4 18's and 4 12's would be bad. Is this true?

Is it ok to mix brands but same size says I have 4 Pioneer SPL's 12's and 2 RE Audio 12's?

--- Now if the above is ok do you split them on apms Pioneer's on one and the others on another amp.

I am sure the rule is to keep all the same size is best but how or why is it bad to mix sizes, I would think the 18's would give me that super low and the 12's a little faster response or did I just answer my own question there it would sound bad?

I will be using a U.S. AMP VLX-400 Competetion Amplifier for the subs it's rated at 5000 Watts RMS and good to 1/4 OHM so I think it will be the better amp. I also have the Memphis MCD-4KW Mojo 4000 Watt Amplifier and Rockford Fosgate T40001BD so thats what I have to pick from in amps what would be best for what speakers below?

Speakers I have:

18's

4 INCRIMINATOR AUDIO DEATH PENALTY 18"s

15's

2 15" Rockford Fosgate Punch HE2

Or mixing these two together but same sizes and using 2 of the amps above.

2 PIONEER TS-W5102SPL 12's

2 PIONEER PREMIER TS-W3001D4 12's

2 RE Audio SE12D4

4 KICKER CVR12 COMP VR 12"

4 Kicker Solo-Baric L7 Series 12" 2 OHM

I do want to go to SPL comps so I am trying to find the best setup for that so any help would be super.

Thanks

Brad

if you have all this nice stuff why would you even ask this question...???

i didnt think the uneducated bought real audio products
Because I want to be sure to get it right. Never hurts to ask I have more then this this is just what I am thinking of using. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/wink.gif.608e3ea05f1a9f98611af0861652f8fb.gif

I have added a 250AMP alternator and going to add a 2nd one here soon.

No I have not seen the 18's yet just ordered them because of price. I was going to order 2 more of the Pioneer SPL 12's if they were not as good.

Come on guys stop Fing with me. LoL I am just wanting to be sure I kick your butts in SPL comps. hehe

Besides basic stuff and the alternator's I am adding 5 to 10 batteries truck already has 2 under the hood it's a Chevy 2500. So I should end up with total of 7 or 12 batteries total also have caps as well.

you should talk to cotjones

typically people don't mix subs because they respond differently to sounds and SQ is not desirable. If you just want to "be loud" then who cares. You wont be listening to real music anyway.

And the thought of "12's being faster" cannot be supported by anything.

i dont get this, u have all this nice stuff and seem to know a lot about car audio, but yet u ask noob question //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/crap.gif.7f4dd41e3e9b23fbd170a1ee6f65cecc.gif
