I'm sticking with stuff I can get local. No more mailing subs for this guy. I have a friend at JL and always had good CS from DD and I really like the dealer.

Local I have JL, DD, Hertz that I would pick from.

That would be ideal.

A few problems though. Each box would be way different and I'd have to run the tune a few times each time.

The Hertz HX300D and W6 are around the same price. Both dual 4s. The DD I can get any way I want.

The guy that had the most experience with the JL, he's already installed more than he remembers said my current sub is doing what he would expect the W6 to do. At that point im expecting the HX to be roughly the same.

TC is one of the most up and down brands out there and how long did Adire last? Deffinetly in the same league.

Aura wasn't related to TC in any way AFAIK if anything I was under the impression the beehive motor was a copy of Aura (I could be wrong there) and Dan Wiggins is still producing product. The fact the company, Adire Audio, was poorly managed doesn't detract from the product's abilities. Does that mean GM's cars are all subpar? ****, and I was starting to like you.

Regardless I understand not wanting to have any subs mailed to you. Have you thought about offering detailed reviews for the products you try? I would be curious about how the Hertz performs.

Lol I think GM is subpar but getting better thanks to the bail out.. I look a lot a companies backgrounds. My buddy has a pair of Aura neo 18s. Noodtastic, if I remember right he had a hard time finding recones.

I've done a few reviews but I can't really do one on the Hertz since that's the best I have used, I haven't used others on that level.

I have a problem with this statement. While I agree with everybody's ears are different, the problem with us "strangers" is a lot of us have the exp and know how on diff subs, enclosures, etc for said subs. This is what this forum is about....helping others pick and choose, troubleshooting if possible, offer up knowledge, etc. There's more to it that what you say. Not everybody has the time nor patience or even the $$ to test out 10 diff subs before that person is finally satisfied to get that one sub that sounded best to him.

While I'm at it, not very many subs are in demo vehicles, rather a listening room or two....or more. It's gonna sound a hell of a lot diff from hearing the sub in a demo room than a car/truck/SUV.

Well I still feel your personal thoughts on a subwoofer wouldn't hurt. Even if you don't have experience with others in the same league. When I look at products to buy I scour the internet looking for such reviews. It's nice to see someone happy with an item I'm looking at purchasing.

Motor is machined in house I believe. You could say the sub is 12.5% Made in the USA. To have the Made in USA designation, it has to be 95% American parts I believe. Fi oems SSA, AA, and Xfire
says right on the SSA home product page

I had a XCON for a few months.
Nothing wrong with it. Very basic design and sound. Better than the DC subs I've had but that's nothing to write home about.
