Midrange array in A-pillar, Supertweets in kick ??

Im thinking of doing an array of midranges in the a-pillar. Probably (5) 3.5" speakers per pillar

http://www.parts-express.com/pe/pshowdetl.cfm?&Partnumber=299-223&scqty=1

My tweets are going to be glassed into the door pods, but they are selenium st350's and those things are huge and deep mounting I cant fit them on the a-pillar

Would it sound ok?? Or is that bad placement

As for the direction they should face, would I face all of the drivers side midrange and tweeter at the passenger headrest, and all the passenger midrange and supertweet at the drivers headrest??

I have a weird question about parallel wiring aswell, since my 2 chanel amp that is going to run the midranges is stable down to and below 2ohm. I plan on adding 5 of these per side, they are 16ohm and that would wire down to 3.2ohm according to 12volt.com's calculator.

Is it really as simple to wire as having one 12 gauge speaker wire going to each pillar, say going straight to the bottom speaker of the array on the pillar, and then climb speaker to speaker connecting positives (so I would have 2 positives coming off each positive terminal). And do the same for the negative side? Or do they all need there own +/- run back to the amp... that seems like a lot of unnecessary runs if I dont have to. Ive just never done an array before.

Thanks for any input

I have a pro audio 10" mid in each door, beside the st350

Its the mid ranges that I have no room for on the door panel and want to put in the a-pillar

Instead of some fancy array of a bunch of 3.5's in the pillars, why not just put a 6.5 down in the kick with the tweeter? Having large differences in pathlengths (mids in your face, tweets 3 feet away) is bound to cause problems. Phase and amplitude problems will always exist. No amount of processing will get them quite as good as the more acoustically natural placement of mids and tweets on the same plane, and close together as possible, with as equal of path lengths as possible.

Kicks get you the sound, pillar and dash installs get you the attention. Decide which one you want more.

I just cant fit anything else in the door pods without it being smotherred right against the seat. My mid and st350 take up all the room

And there will be a good midrange gap since my mids play 60-2.5k and supertweets only play down to 5k, so I need some midrange.

6.5s in the kicks...................already been said

Not interested in 6.5's. Wanted something different, with the pro audio 10's I get a ton of volume from one driver per door and they take tons of power.

Just need something in another location other than the kick to mount midrange

Didnt know mounting midranges in the pillars would create any problems if the tweet was in the kick
