i think we should get our western ports out of chinese control, ond our eastern out of british and find a dometic company who can do it. theres no reason to bid out our management to other countries, especially UAE and China

While I remain skeptical about the new port agreement with UAE, you've still got to have all the facts.

There are only 4 companies in the world that provide this type of service on this large of scale, none of them being domestic.

Great Brittain, China, UAE, and a fourth company (in Australia IIRC - correct me if I'm wrong here) that only services its own country.

Dubai Ports International certainly does have the experience and ability to operate US Ports, I don't think that is really in question. The fact that DPI happens to be located in UAE, which has been known to have terrorist ties in the past.

Regardless, UAE has done a 180 in the more recent years and has actually been on good terms with the US. They most recently sent a large amount of financial aid to assist in repairing the US Hurricane Damage last year.

While UAE may be more of an ally now, I still think that it would be proper to allow the standard congressional evaluation period, rather than going in head first.

i dont know why everyone thinks bush is so terrible. The only things you know about iraq is what comes ont he media. Which i remind you is in the business to entertain people. Would you watch the news if all they showed was soldiers helping people out? NO. But would you watch it if they told you 7 soldiers died in a car bomb? yea. in a heartbeat.
