midbass: Koda or extemis 8"???

I am hunting down a strong mid bass driver that will perform great free air in doors. Looking to give it approx 100 watts.

Is the Extemis better than the Koda?? also which would do better in my doors?

I will probably hold out and see if SI is going to continue with their SI 8". But still want some thoughts on these two drivers.

Well, the Extremis has quite a bit more displacement than the Koda....so overall midbass output should go to the Extremis. The Extremis may be harder to fit in your doors....quite a bit deeper than the Koda. And keep in mind the Extremis is 8ohm.....so, to give them 100w you'd need a 200w/channel @ 4ohm amp

EDIT; BTW, just noticed you were looking at 8's, I assumed you were looking at 6.5's, which is the Koda I was talking about. The Extremis is a 6.5" driver, NOT an 8" driver.

that was a typing mistake. I am looking for a strong 6.5 midbass to add to my DA Hex 5.25 comps.

yeah, but now I can't find anywhere selling Koda's. And it looks like they are discontinued from what I have found. So now I am on the search for another strong midbass driver.

extremis is out of the question, can't fit it.

Another thing to be noted about the extremis... which may not be a very big deal if they will be low passed low enough.... is that they are EXTREMELY directional, and sound the best so far, directly on axis...

I got extremis mids and vifa tweets I also got a coustic XM6 that was bad, but is getting serviced or replaced right now under warranty.

sweet i used to play with focals and vifas in diy set ups along time ago. nice stuff but now im to lazy lol (actually working in the feild put a stop to that due to "if its good why dont you use it?") how do u like the adire?
