midbass-doors, tweets-sails, midrange-kicks?

How would this sound?? i want to do a 3 way active front stage but its a standard cab truck so i don't have a whole lot of room in a central located area its all spread out. My idea was either midbass in the kicks and midrange/tweet in the door, or midbass in the door tweet in the sail and midrange in the kick.

only worry about midrange in the kick is truck seats sit up high, i don't want my vocals at my feet but at the same time i don't know if i have room for a 6.5" midbass in the kicks.

everyone says they should be as close together as possible so you should put the tweet in the kick or down in the door, but honestly i like tweets up high myself, i dont think you would really have a problem

well thats where I agree with you, i have never sat in a vehicle with tweets down low that had a high enough sound stage.

what if i put the midrange in the dash(i have the 3.5" speakers up in the corners) tweets in the sails and mids in the doors?

do you have the speakers already? Hook them up and try different positions.

don't have speakers yet... have a separate question as well....

for midranges... cones or domes and why? from what i've been seeing cones seem to play quite a bit lower but the domes seem to take quite a bit more power... and i would "think" domes would have better off axis response

try it and let me no i was thinking of trying the same thing. i dont have the processing for 3 way and i dont have midbass drivers to try it out

If you don't mind giving fiberglass a try, check out my truck's build log. Placing both midranges and tweeters on the dashboard gives me incredible imaging.

The pods cost me about $40 to build and it was my first time working with fiberglass. Unpleasant, but not overly difficult work.

I would put the tweeter in the a-pillar and the midrange in the corner; I have some 2'' peerless for the midrange. You could probably go with a larger size.
