I think the seatbelt law is b.s. when you can legally ride a motorcycle without a helmet in most states. I mean honestly which is safer being in a car with no seatbelt or on a motorcycle with no helmet. Now I know both are unsafe but if bikers have the option to not use safety equiptment then motorists should be given the same choice.

usually if you have a decent argument and you are being scincere, the judge will at the least reduce the fine.

I wasnt trying to argue a point of it being right because you dont have to wear a helmet on a bike. I was just stating that i thought it is kinda *** backwards in my opinion to allow bikers to not wear a helmet but not wearing a seatbelt (why i believe to be the safer of the two) is against the law.

Today, I got pulled over.. the cop walks up to my car and says "the reason I pulled you over is because you didn't have your seat belt on."
I kind of get annoyed cuz I ALWAYS have it on and pointed right to it sayin "it's been on the whole time officer."

He THEN says, "well I didn't see it and if it was on, it is being worn improperly." I drive a smaller car and am 6'3, so the seat belt rubs against my left shoulder pretty bad, so I put my shoulder in front of it, while still having the part across my chest and lap.

Needless to say, I get a ticket. I KNOW this officer pulled me over cuz I was a younger looking guy and I know he had no clue whether or not I had my seatbelt on. It's BS and don't feel like paying $65 for a ticket when I did have my seatbelt on.

Any ideas?? I know I can fight it but on what grounds?

Yeah,there getting pretty tight round here bout seatblelts.Even got signs in areas bout it being enforced and what not.

We had one out here today. One dude cop standing in the Middle on Grand River flagging a cop car hidden in a parking lot if he saw anyone without a seatbelt.

I always wear mine so oh well. Whats so bad about wearing seatbelts anyways? Honestly, I feel wierd without wearing one.

I was in Romeo, Mi for the past week. We travelled around 90-105 the whole time in a full 15 passenger van to and from the Ford Proving Grounds and saw maybe one cop.

michigan is pretty laxed on speeding.i only got caught once when i was doing 70 in a 55.

And that is exactly what the courts want you to. Do you realize the number of complete bullshit tickets that get written every day? Do you realize that if just 20% of those pled “not guilty” the courts would lock up? Is it a pain to go to court, of course it is (designed that way), but at the end of the day, you are the one being screwed.

It cost me $200 just to bring my attorney to traffic court, but the three times I have had to do so, I was found not guilty each time. Well worth it to me in saved fines, and insurance premiums.

I just got home around 12:30am and I saw about 6 cops. One of them had the nerver to ride my azz and follow me half way home. I was just waiting for him to pul me over. He ended up pulling a u-ey and go back into town.

My guess he was running my plates. Clean here. Except for my tint. Oops.
