you can't use radio shack type meters, exetech, etc. over 126 db.

Of the three: good, cheap, accurate, pick two.

TermLab is standard fare and will set you back around $550. You might find them used cheaper.

http://www.splmeter.com would be my next place to look around $160 or so.
