Just got back into metal and rock recently, it's been at least 10 years, right now i got tool, a perfect circle, and thats about it. I also got old metallica and slayer. Can anyone offer suggestions? i really like the newer tool that i haven't heard, but i need more variety...

If you like Tool I would reccommend Deftones, Maybe Nine Inch Nails, hmm can't really think of anything else at the moment... I'll try to think of some more.

edit: ^^^ yeah like haunz said BB and TDG are pretty good.

Check out some Divine Heresy, Kataklsysm, Strapping Young Lad, At th Gates, The Haunted...

From what you've listed I think you will enjoy most all of this.

I'm pretty bad, about all I listen to is Hair Nation on sirius. Don't know much of new rock but I do dig the hell out of the Godsmack IV album.

Motley Crue has some slamming tunes

I felt that same way for years. There's still some that I can't stand, but not much.

I tune out the "singing" for the most part is the musicians in the band are great.

The bands I listed for him don't have much screaming.

Though it's not all clean vocals.

Its good to see somebody come back from the dark side. Rap is crap, especially newer stuff.
