mercedes headache

Okay so i installed my kicker l7 and kenwood amp in my mercedes c230 2002. It was going good for a min but isnt stable at all. At one ohm it sounds the best but cuts out completely for periods of time and the sound level changes on its own, and at 4 ohms it sounds okay and doesnt cut out but still changes the level of sound. I have one rca being ran from the stock sub. Iam guessing that is the problem. Do i need a hi-low converter? can that be ran from a source that is already stock amplified? When i hook one wire from the single rca up to one of the stock sub wires it gives a signal. **** i wish i was better at this stuff. I know what alot of you are going to say, either "have it profesionally installed" or "get an aftermarket deck". But i really wanna keep the stock deck with steering wheel controls, and id like to do it myself. I could settle for 4 ohms and slightly fluctuating sound but id rather have it at its best. I dont know if it could be a problem with the sub, or with the remote wire i ran from the fuse box, but they seem to be working okay.

Any input is greatly appreciated.

sweet thats what i figured, can i hook that up to the stock sub or do i have to hook it up to the deck? Im pretty sure the stock deck is fiber optic so im not so sure how good that will work.
