My local audio shop is selling me a brand new PR1.1000 class D mono block amp for $350. I am wondering it if is a worth while upgrade from the class A/B PR 300.2 that i use for my subs now.i have seen ratings listed for the 300.2 ranging from 410w-550wx1.

I am running two 10'' (DVC 4 ohms per coil) PRs in a ported enclosure and am also wondering if i will be way overpowering them. i plan to wire them at 1 ohm with the PRD 1.1000 any tips, suggestions, concerns. thanks to all who answer

It's a nice amp, and will give you plenty of headroom if you ever want to upgrade your subs in the future.

Here's the T/S Parameters for your subs from the Memphis web site.

15-PR104D

Fs - 35 Hz

VAS - 1.19 cf

Mms - 95g

Xmech - 0.352mm

Qms - 4.58

Qes - 0.36

Qts - 0.33

Sens - 87dB

Vc Diam - 2in

BL - 10.19 T/M

Mag Weight - 50oz

RMS - 250W

Peak - 500W

Mount Diam - 9.125in

Mount Depth - 5in

Disp - 0.08 cf

With 2 of these subs wired to 1 ohm on a 16-PRD1000.1, I'd venture to say you better set the gain as to not overpower them. 300w rms each would be a safe bet.

Square Root (Watts * Ohms) = Amp Output Voltage

SQRT(600*1) = 24.49 Volts

Hope this helps.

according to the amps specs if i wire it to 2 ohms i should see 600w rms. so would that be the best way to wire them to limit overpowering them?

It is the '07 model (fyi).

thanks for the info

youll be fine with that amp on those subs. just watch the gain.

the subs will only see the full power if you burp them at full rms, otherwise you most likely wont see a quarter of the power at listening volumes (unless you max out your amp)

Yes its worth $350. The Memphis dealer here sells them for $599. So what I am saying is $350 from an authorized dealer is an amazing deal. If they are not authorized just get one on ebay for $250.

they are an authorized dealer i found them on memphis website,

DUH! //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/blackeye.gif.66a1670f5aaf7f406e783a63e3387dc5.gif Im stupid i was thinking i had dual 2's when i typed that, thanks for settin me straight. When i bought those he said he would give me 30 days to swap them for dual 2's so i guess thats where that came from

Also, should i run a 1/0 or a separate 4 awg for this amp, i am running another amp for fronts( see sig for current setup)
