Just picked up 2 of them, and trying to figure out how to get them into a standard cab truck. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/biggrin.gif.d71a5d36fcbab170f2364c9f2e3946cb.gif

If using a sealed enclosure, will 3 cf of shared space be enough space for them?

I MIGHT be able so squeeze a little more space, but 3.5 would be the absolute max I could get most likely.

Papers that come with it say 2 cf for one 15.

I've heard/read that doubling subs, doesn't mean you have to double the space. Is this wrong?

How much space would be "ideal" and what would be "acceptable"?

Curiosity got the best of me, and I built a box for both subs, and ended up with 3.5 cf....and it sounds like turds. My Type R 12 was louder.

The 15's don't get nearly as low as the 12 was, and sound sort of "peaky".

Will polyfill "fix" the problem?

If not, I'll ditch one of them, and see how one 15 does. If it's no better than the Type R, the R is going back in...

Ive had the 15s as well as the 12s. If you try to squeeze both of them in that small of a box, your lows will suffer greatly. Subs not a low end monster to begin with, plus a small box will kill any lows it will put out.

The pair I had was in 2.5net sealed I believe and sounded ok. Sold them to my cousin, built a huge sealed box for each of them (around 4 cubic feet net I believe) and put my setup to shame, lows were much stronger.

I would really suggest you just use one and either keep it sealed or port it for a little more output in the lower regions.

the R is a way better sub.
I know that.

But if I can't get louder off two 15's than 1 12, something is wrong.

After making this box at 3.5 cf, I now see there's some room left that I can make it a little bigger, and get it up to around 4.15 - 4.25 cf...

Tried the polyfill thing today. It helped alot, but not nearly enough. Building another box tomorrow.

whats wrong is that those subs ( atleast in my experience **** badly) and blow quickly.only rated at 250 rms and i can see why.Now the memphis MOJO is a whole different story, one of the toughest loudest subs ive had.Like you said, your R was louder, thats because 1 12 in the right enclosure will outperform 2 in a not optimum enclosure.as has been stated in this thred already.I was i the same boat you are with the sub behinde the seat, but when i got up the urge for more boom, and had no room,i did a blowthru, problem solved, you could do the same.

PRs are hard to blow. Maybe you just got a faulty one......You can easily push 300-350 and they like it.

The mojo should be better just because it's their top line and their PRs are the entry level(even though they have the street edge).

If I didn't have to use my truck, as a truck, I'd do just that...

So does everyone think 4 cf is, or is not, enough space for the 2 subs?
