memphis belle bass not hiting help!

hey guys i have a question about my memphis belle 1300.

ok i have the belle.2 mb quart componet sets no tweets in the rear tho,memphis m1 wired for 2ohm's alpine 7892 hu(i know its an older model)

i had 2 mtx thunder ta amps a 4 channel 3404 and a mono 3401 and i dident like the highs from the mtx but the bass soounded real good then i upgraded the the belle and the mids and highs are teriffic but the bass just dont hit as good and the belle is rated at 600 watts about 120 more than what the mtx birth sheet said.

i have 3 sets of rca's going from the hu to the amp then a y splitter right before going in the the sub input.so there is only 5 rca inputs and i have six so the guy at the shop where i got the amp told me to use the y splitter.is this ok or wrong?

am i missing some thing? i mean it sounds good just not what like the mtx did.

you need the summed input module for the sub input of the amp. otherwise it will sound like shit, just like you described.
