medical marijuana card

Completely understand BUT, that's where the line is drawn. Every career is different. I know some people in Cali with cards that have been denied jobs with a card still cause the company is based in a state that doesn't recognize it. ***** but that's life.
agreed.

Uhm, even in Cali, even with a 'legal' card, you can be tested and denied a job, or fired, for testing positive. That's the real kicker here, even if the state recognizes you use it for medical purposes, you are still an illegal unemployable person because you 'abuse' a substance on your personal time.

Most, not all (as I agree that there's a huge kicker in this situation) companies will see it as a medical condition. Being a medical condition, if I remember the equal opportunity employment does protect people from being denied a job due to health/medical problems. Please do correct me if I'm wrong as I'm not 100% sure how this huge grey area gets handled

marijuana is not a drug...just say'n.
please, don't every say that again if you are advocating marijuana.. it is a drug just like alcohol, tobacco, caffeine, and ib-profen.. The only things that are different are its purely natural (grown organic helps also), physically not addictive, and it provides medicinal value. It should be provided just as alcohol and laws should mimic it also.

"hello officer, what am I being pulled over for?" "Well sir, you fit the profile of a pot head and I just ran out of my prescription, do you have any in your possessions? If so, give it up and I will let you off wit a warning."

OP, you may want to give the card a bit more thought. I'm all for it but if you ever plan on working in any kind of professional field, remember that there is now documented proof that you smoke weed. Regardless of whether they come out and say it or not (because they won't) It's not crazy to think some company could see that and pass you over for a job because of it...

EDIT: I posted before I read the entire thread...looks like this has already been discussed //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/biggrin.gif.d71a5d36fcbab170f2364c9f2e3946cb.gif

LOL he was referring to the start of prohibition! And marijuana is not legal anywhere in the U.S. it can be had in certain states with a medical card and decriminalized in some states, but it is not fully legal anywhere!
It's actually not technically legal ANYWHERE...like on the entire planet. Even in Amsterdam it's only decriminalized, not legal.

First off that's his own fault. Michael Phelps won 8 medals and he smokes.... just saying. I know plenty of athletes in college that smoke more than me and they have zero problems. Each person is different tho
