Everyone says "dont believe anything you hear on the news or internet"

Ok well if everything on the internet and news channels are lies then what is true about the world and society?

What does the government keep away from mainstream society? Why do they show ONLY what they want us to see? Is the government trying to hide things? Are they trying to take over our lives?

Discuss the news and media in general in America.

(please no bs posts like " I like chicken" or "this is a gay thread" or that other bs...real, honest answers only..)

Our Foreign policy needs a revamp.. China is going to be the MOST powerful country in the coming decades, don't think for a minute they will sit back take our shit.. Their enemies are few and ours are great..

This country has basically doomed itself with ill the treatment of other races other than whites.. Don't expect them to fight if China rolls over here, minorities enlistment in the military are falling little by littler.. Europe won't be able to help with their aging population and economic decline..

The future looks bleak for American Whites.. I am not trying to be an *******, or racists, this is just what I see.. I think the rest of the world is tired of being told their cultureless monkeys that live in caves and are expendable.. Kings and Queens used to treat peasants like that, until they starting revolting..

SAME dammnn thing happened with the GREEKS, ROMANS, Eqyptians they thought the Northern Europeans at the time were barbaric monkeys, and where are those empires today??? Exactly, now days the World is ruled by mainly Northern Europeans and their White American counterparts, they are doing the same thing all FAILED societies have done in the past.. -->

Failing to integrate all people... into society.. The media doesn't help either in portraying other people and their cultures either...

You know, the government is hiding things of course. Think about it, if they told everyone everything, people would not be able to handle it, their heads would explode from the info, and also people would revolt against the government for all the corrupt things going on. And the government would never be able to be trusted AT ALL, and they would have no control over the people.

The government's assumed role is to keep people in line, which they're doing an excellent job of. I distrust the media (both sides, I don't care what fake label, whether it's conservative or liberal, you slap on it) because of its role in determining the agenda that we think about. That's a very dangerous power to have. What's even more dangerous is that this power is vested in only a few corporate interests, mostly corporations that have a financial stake in what's being reported. Anyone else see a problem with that? When was the last time you saw a orchestrated media campaign against a major government action? Not since Vietnam...it's branching into another issue, but the media playing hands-off with the military can't be good.

Ever since the Communications Act of 1994, the number of private owners of radio and TV stations in the US have fallen significantly...conglomerates such as Disney or Clear Channel now control huge blocks of the country's programming on several mediums. Is anyone else slightly disturbed by this?

So, what can we do about it...how about not just sit on our *** and get our world view from MSNBC or Fox? There are plenty of foreign news services out there that may not agree with us, take a different approach, or present a different picture.
