wont be able to bond, the glue that is. if it was one sided you could work through that but its both sides, no bueno
how about if i use a gasket silicone instead of glue for sealing it.........don't no jus asking lol

still would not work, the way wood glue works is it seeps into the wood at the bonding seam creating shearing strength. with the laminate it blocks and inhibits the wood from seeping into the wood with the laminate. it does not matter about the seal right now, simply put the box will NOT hold as it is laminate. high pressure inside the box, vibration etc. would cause catastrophic failure

just use riv-nuts or clip-nuts, made for blind fastening. some window weld should hold the ring on there pretty good..... being 4x6, you could...

I say go for it. Just add some kind of bracing to the bigger panels. Some old home speaker boxes were made of 3/8" mdf. Maybe not even mdf, some...

LOL - mine was a higher end model too - iirc deh-9300. Low mileage too, it was sitting around for year collecting dust.
