mdf costs

The sheet that I got was huge I dont even think you can get them in that small of a piece. They only sell them one size where i live. It only cost $22. I built two vent ported boxes for two Type R's and I still have room left.

4x8 sheet cost me $20. That was with 2 rip cuts to make it a little more manageable in my car. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/biggrin.gif.d71a5d36fcbab170f2364c9f2e3946cb.gif

its like 16 bucks around me....first 2 cuts are free.....its hard to get a 4x8 in an eclipse //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif

You might have to go to a bigger hardware place / lumber yard to find it (ie, Home Depot, Lowe's, etc.) but I managed to get mine for like $18, I think. Might want to figure out how and if they'll cut it for you at the store so that you can take it home in a smaller car... I had planned out exactly how I wanted to cut the pieces out of the 4x8 sheet I was going to get, but then they cut the sheet into thirds and I was screwed.

Good luck.

Mike

18 bucks a sheet at home depot...

Find a sheet with a bumped corner, and work the floor person for that area, HD will give discounts on damaged lumber. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif

Last time my friend bought some was at Lowe's for $11.50 or so. I think it was a 4x8 sheet cuz it barely fit in his van.

At least you have a hatchback. Try getting a 4x8 sheet into an '02 SE-R. I had them cut it into 3 pieces, and it still didn't fit in the trunk. I had to put them bhind the drive seat, standing on the floor with my girl holding them still. What a pain. I miss my 240sx....//content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/frown.gif.a3531fa0534503350665a1e957861287.gif

Yes, at Home Depot here it's $19.50 (ish) for a 4 x 8 sheet of 3/4".. and they cut it for you (they have a sign that says 2 cuts free, 50 cents each after, but when I was there I got 28 cuts free.. all my cuts for all 4 boxes.. just depends I guess).. They say no 'prescision' cuts.. and they mean it.. some of mine were off a bit and the kid used the first piece (of a string of same size cuts) as the template, but never seemed to cut on the line the same way twice.. All in all it's not to bad, no real gaps or hosed cuts, just not as exacting as I would have done it had I been on the saws..

Yea. That's what I did. I mixed the glue with the dust from sanding and fill in the bigger holes. Then filled the rest with wood filler..works awesome
