Yup.

I don't even have rear speakers.
But if I did, that would be how I ran it.
Why do I want to fade to the front?
Well, primarily because you want the rears to be very attenuated. They should only be audible to the rear seat passengers, and just enough to "fill" in the high/mid frequency sounds for them.
Secondary reason would be that if you left them "evenly" set, since the rears are powered off the headunit they would likely start to distort at a fairly low volume level (relative to the front speakers powered from an external amplifier)....with them attenuated (like the should be, to limit their output), the point at which they distort will be raised to allow you to use more of your headunit's volume range.
So tell me, how good are these MSQ6's ? They can honestly handle 125watts RMS and not be overpowered?
You'll be fine.
As always, set your gains correctly (conservatively if necessary), don't use excessive boosting on an equalizer (if you have one), properly set the xover point, etc.
Well then why dont I just buy a 2 channel amp if really your not supposed to amplify the rear speakers?
You could definitely do that.
Though sometimes going to route of a 4-channel amplifier, and bridging the amplifier, can be a cheaper route than going with a single higher powered 2-channel amplifier.
