I've decided on the Memphis Audio M-series Components. The MSQ6's however i'm not sure which amp to get. They say this component set uses 50watts RMS and 100watts peak.

The MCA2004 is the memphis M-class amp that puts out 50w x 4 RMS

The MCA3004 is the memphis M-class amp that puts out 75w x 4 RMS

Bases on what you guys have listened to, which of these do you think i'm better off going with? Also what do you guys think of this component set, what do they compare to and how do you rate them?

I'm not going to upgrade at all...this is going to be the setup for a long time. In that case what do you think? Also what is your opinion on the MSQ6's ? How good of a component set are they? What do they compare to, and how would you rank them?

I was talking to a memphis tech. He said that they way under rate those sets. Get the larger amp, the 3004 and bridge it to them. He said no prob with 125 watts. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/wink.gif.608e3ea05f1a9f98611af0861652f8fb.gif

BTW... Awsome amp. I have not got to use mine yet. Just awaiting.

I wasnt going to bridge it b/c i also want to amp the rear speakers which will be the Memphis MC6's. Not exactly sure what the handling capacity is on those. From the sounds of it the MSQs are underrated and a nice component set. So maybe I should go with the MCA3004.

Any others thoughts... ?

Bridge the 3004 to the MSQ6's

Power the rears from the headunit

Nice selections, by the way.

Wont it sounds unequal if i dont amplify the rear speakers, and just have them running off of the headunit? Also isnt 125watts a bit much for interiors? It says they should be run at 50watts RMS. Am I missing something? Please explain why you would do it this way, and not just run 75watts to each speaker. Thanks guys for your help.

I feel that 125 x 4 is way to much power for interior speakers. I was just debating wether I should go 50 x 4 or 75 x 4. Are these components that good that they need 125 watts? Why does it say on their site to run 50watts RMS ? Thats why I figure 75watts x 4 would be perfect for the interiors. Am i wrong?

You don't want to hear the rear speakers from the front seats. The MOST they should be doing is filling in some for the rear seat passengers. (hence the term "rear fill")

Also isnt 125watts a bit much for interiors?
Not at all.

It says they should be run at 50watts RMS.
Not at all what that specification means.

"RMS power handling" is typically a long term, continuous specification.

Music is neither long term nor continuous. It is periodic, transient and dynamic.

Please explain why you would do it this way, and not just run 75watts to each speaker. Thanks guys for your help.
1) Because you don't want the rears to be of the same amplitude as the fronts. And wasting amplifier channels on speakers that should be barely audible to even the rear seat passengers is not cost effective when the headunit's internal amplifier (with the fader faded towards the front) can do the job just fine.

2) More power = more better //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif The limiting factor to the maximum output of your system won't be power, and using larger than necessary amplifier allows for higher average power output without nearing the limitations of the amplifier.

I am not going to have stock speakers in the rear, I was going to be replacing them with the Memphis Audio MC6s. So you guys say just put 125 watts to each of the fronts and just run the rears off of the headunit power? Is that how you guys all do your systems?? Why do I want to fade to the front? So tell me, how good are these MSQ6's ? They can honestly handle 125watts RMS and not be overpowered?

Well then why dont I just buy a 2 channel amp if really your not supposed to amplify the rear speakers?
