Hey all,

I've been reading through these threads and see a lot of people really like the Alpine Type R's. I am trying to do a customer install (first ever) in my Dodge Magnum and am wanting a specific look. I like the look of the JL Audio but don't want to spend that much. I see these MB Quarts

but have never heard these. I've heard of the brand but can't find too much feedback about their performance. I am looking for the bass to be inside of my vehicle and care about quality of the sound.

I am looking to put two of these facing upward and will be properly powered.

imo, quarts are a great sq driver. they wont get "loud" like some like but should work out good for you. how much power are you planing on using?

quarts are good product. ive never heard there subs, but their speakers are excellent

Thanks for the feedback, I hadn't put too much thought into it. From the specs on the web site, I am thinking of feeding it about 600 RMS but keeping the power down since they are rated at 500. I've been reading and it seems that a RF or Kicker amp will be the way to go for what I am wanting. I am open to suggestions, but try to keep the amp price at $200 or less. I've also read that HiFonics is not a bad alternative.

The bottom line is that I have a black accessory theme going in my car (on the outside) and am hoping to carry that into the inside of the vehicle. This is my first vehicle where I've had enough funds to be able to indulge so bring on the suggestions. I am also considering the Boston Acoustics G5 but without the extra whachamacallit gadget they sell for it. Like I said, I am looking at these subs to be facing upward and recessed in the floor for which I plan on building a false floor.
