Hey guys, i'm looking for a new component set. And i've noticed that alot of people say that MB Quart is good along with Diamond Audio. Well I came across the MB Quart PCE 216 Component/coaxial set, and I was wondering how well they would perform. I listen to rap and r&b, so i'd like to have some type of midbass. Also I would be running them at 115 watts a piece. If you guys have any experience or insight with these it would be greatly appreciated.

Since it's a component set can I keep the midbasses and just switch the tweeter?? Or should I just go with a completely different component set in the 200 range?

They are pretty good all around, not the best midbass though. I heard them next to Polk DB series components, the difference was night and day, the Quarts were in a different league. The Quarts' have very pronounced vocals. I did not know poly cone speakers could sound like that until I heard them.

The power should be fine... I think they are rated around 60 watts RMS? If crossed over at 80 hz they should handle double that.

It's weird because I see it saying 60-130 Rms and Peak being 260. Thats what the crutchfield review was saying //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/confused.gif.e820e0216602db4765798ac39d28caa9.gif So with my needs you think these speakers will be a keeper??

im looking to buy this exact set also. i've always been a big MB fan. the tweeters are a little harsh for some, but that can be corrected with some eq-ing. for the price, you really cant go wrong.

I've owned them, and ran 200w to them daily. Excellent midbass, clear highs, very defined voices. I suggest biamping them with a 4-channel amp so that you can independently control the mids and highs. They love power, though. They sounded okay on 50w, but on 200w, they just straight up kicked ***.

Ditto. I had the PCE-216's in my old car before I got my Jeep and put in Focal's. I ran about 165 RMS to each side and the Quarts absolutely loved it! It was amazing how loud they would get while staying detailed with zero distortion.
