Mazda 6 owners; need info on stock stereo

My bud wants me to shop a system for him, based off his preferences. He wants to start by upgrading speakers, and adding a sub. The problem is that he wants to retain the stock system because Mazda 6 has an extremely integrated dash area, and he likes the way it looks.

It is a base model Mazda 6, 2005 I believe.

So:

1. What is the RMS output per each channel? Peak?

2. Does the stock HU have limited crossovers (cutoff for 'warm' effect) much like many others?

3. What is the amperage for the stock alternator?

4. For those of you who have run a big system, how easy was it?

to be honest with ya they do make a mazda6 dash kit,,its about 180 but it keeps all the functions justs lets you upgrade the stereo and tweak more. hope that helps. but to answer one of your questions unless he has the bose the sound sucks,,the speakers in the back doors are hardly noticible.
