ok i kno when using oscope to set gain where its no clipping(giving amp its full power) but let say u have a 1000 watt amp and a 500 watt sub wont overpowering it that much damage it even tho it a unclipped signal??? jus wondering

Depends on the sub. The coil type, layers, former and so on. It will all mostly depend on how abusive you are with the volume knob.

it probably would if the sub is not designed to take 1000watts, either thermally or mechanically

I think you are sending 1000w to your brain and it can only handle 500.

why? he has an oscope. I'm sure an oscope can determine VAC
