So, I traded an 18" Fi SSD to another member on here for 2 comp vr 10"s, 2 L5 10"s, and a Memphis 16-pr1.5kd. I thought it was a very good deal on my end, possibly too good to be true. When the stuff arrived i checked all the subs coils for correct impedances, and they were all good. The trade occured about 2 or 3 weeks ago and I havent gotten the amp hooked up until today.

When I put the power wire into the terminal, I got no spark, which i thought was odd. Got everything hooked up, no sound. The green power light came on, the red protection light did not. The sub out on the HU is on, tested the power and ground wire, at a good 13.9V. Tried hooking up to a different speaker, my Fi SSD, still no sound. Took the amp out, took the cover off, no visible burned components. Anything i could have missed?

A hifonics BX1605D was hooked up in the same exact configuration, same wires, same everything, a month ago and functioned fine.

Cliff Notes: I think I got scammed.

? the sub costs $240 shipped from FI. two 10" l5's shipped cost $240 off ebay, two cvrs cost $140, a good 1500 watt memphis amp goes for at least $150.

i do think i got the better end of the deal. i think i will hook up another amp in its place and see if i get sound.

glad i changed my mind about trading you....you hadnt even checked the amp you were trying to give me for my sh!t....boy i woulda been pissed!
i was planning on trading you the hifonics BX1605D, which i had run in my car for 6 months and has been sitting in my room ever since. learn to read *******. you also failed to comprehend simple english in my trade proposal, you come off as an idiot. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/laugh.gif.48439b2acf2cfca21620f01e7f77d1e4.gif

you would definitely see NO SPARK if you had correctly pulled the fuse at the battery, instead of just throwing a hot power wire into an amp......waiting to see a 'SPARK' as your measuring stick to see if the amp works......RULE#1 when installing an amp.....DISCONNECT the fuse at the power wire at the battery......jackazz....who gives FL a bad name? my install>yours any day //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/wink.gif.608e3ea05f1a9f98611af0861652f8fb.gif

Putting a hot wire into and amp will do absolutely nadda! The reason why it sparks and it does with any amp having a large internal bank of caps, this is just there draw while charging. I have never once unplugged my elec system while installing an amp and have good sh!t... //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/wink.gif.608e3ea05f1a9f98611af0861652f8fb.gif Polo..
