Maxx-Link ?'s

I've searched for some info on this unit. It is supposed to be a universal strapping module and line driver. My question is when linking the amps how does it affect the final load output? For instance using 4 monoblocks that do full power at 1ohm what would the final stable ohm load be? Also could you use an amp that is rated at 2ohms in conjuction with another rated at 1ohm? Any help with this would be greatly appreciated.

The load supplied is divide by the number of amps connected. If you have a 2 ohm load and 2 amps strapped each one would see 1 ohm.

As for running different amps I would not do that. They should all be the same amp.

I agree about using the same amps, just testing the whole universal thing. So does it just involve the rca section of the amps? what is involved in the combining the physical output of the amps that are strapped. Can someone give an example of wiring of the speker outputs on say 4 non maxsonic monoblocks ?

They would be strapped 2 and 2.Each set could then be ran to one coil or one speaker depending on th situation.Or one set could run to a pair of speakers.

The actual strapping of the amps is in the rca's as well as the speaker wiring. You would wire both the negtive terminals together and just use the positive lead from each amp as th pos and neg.

If you buy the maxx link it'll tell you.

It sounded scarey to me at first then I just did it.

Thank you, I think I will pick one up just for shits and giggles.

They can be helpful. But not really to practical for a daily, unless your an extreme bass junky!

But I do have one and they do make a differance. It also comes with built in test tone and is an 8v line driver as well.

ENJOY

I was looking at it for a comp setup, and with a built in line driver it looks good. How much is Maxxsonics charging for these?

You have to be a competitor to get Maxxsonic pricing, but they go for around $100-120.
no they're cheaper. call up maxxsonics corporation and ask for mike steirs.

i have a maxxlink and really like it.//content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif
