i disagree with ur friend damaso. i think most addictions r mental. if u become physicaly addicted to weed somthins wrong with u. i know many daily smokers and many people who smoke way more than 3 or 4 times a day like around a quater a day. Ive seen them jus stop like nothing didnt fiend for a hit or anyhting like that. So i voted yes. but the bad thing tha oculd happen if it were to b legalized would b it would b as popular cus people would skip weed and go onto worse drugs.

No offense, but people's views on "addiction" seem to be off quite a bit here...

There are both MENTAL and PHYSICAL addictions.

Marijuana is NOT physically addictive, but you CAN get mentally addicted to it, but you can get mentally addicted to anything.

Also, we can debate the pros and cons of smoking all day, but in the end (and I feel this issue hasn't been addressed) - Why do you have the right to decide what is best for me ? Why should you impose your wishes on my mind and body ?

I voted yes; I havent smoked in about 3 months and just started again and man I can remember a more chill time(i got adhd). I love the chill feeling i get. I smoked the past 2 days and its been some of the best times ive had since ive stopped.

I think people control the addiction.

There are so many people that smoke Marijuana that if the gov made it legal they could pofit off it big time. Even more then cigs.

I dont believe Marijuana is a gate way drug. People choose to go to a higher level.

For some people getting stoned makes the act better then when there not stoned.

I voted yes. I have smoked but dont anymore. From all I gather and can tell from facts and research, I have not found one physical problem that has arised from marijuana, unlike cigarettes which cause cancer and so forth. In fact their has not been one death from marijuana.

The government has an opportunity here to legalize and get involved in the production and distribution, thereby increasing their profit intake. If they did make it legal, it wouldnt have to be privatized.

I don't smoke it. Simply because I can't. I would say legalize it though for the fact that its not as dangerous as alcohol. Plus, the government could tax the hell out of it and lowers taxes on other shit, like gas.

I vote yes, seeing as alcohol and tobacco are both legal, and those are many many times deadlier than pot. I say either legalize weed or ban tobacco and alcohol (Because, you know, prohibition worked sooooo well //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/rolleyes.gif.c1fef805e9d1464d377451cd5bc18bfb.gif )

I think there are better things in life to get hyped up over, it still isnt good for you in any way shape or form!!!!! and if you think so, keep telling your self that, i wouldn't do it simply because i think smoking in general is possibly the single most digusting habit ive ever seen!
ever heard of a vaporizer? no smoke whatsoever...but you still get all that wonderful THC for whatever purpose you choose to use it. its basically like breathin

ill give my 2 pennies then get back to my business. I voted I no opinon b/c i do it about once every six months if that. I have a few not very close friends that do it daily. once close firend for about 6 yr that does it daily and that I know she has called into work becuase she couldnt get high before work. I know there is some sort of physical/mental addiction involved. the question is is it worse than the vices whe have (booze smoking) now.

So because your friend has a problem, you think that EVERYONE should be banned from partaking ? Also, there might be mental addiction involved, but there's just plain NO physical addiction from weed.

though i do not smoke any more, i voted yes, to legalize it.. i believe marajuana is safer than alcohol ...u hear about people DUI and killing people all the time on alcohol, but how many time do u hear about someone who is high on pot killing someone? beside killing your brain cells and makeing you stupid, and the possibility of it being a gateway to other drugs....(especially w/ me since i smoked everyday and was always high, that i couldnt get high any more)

I don't subscribe to the theory that "well, alcohol is legal so marijuana should be too." Yes, alcohol is very damaging to our society, but just because it is still legal doesn't mean we should legalize another drug. I am a HS guidance counselor. I have seen kids who just get wrapped up in pot, and they essentially become worthless, academically, socially, etc. I know that IF, god forbid, marijuana was ever legalized, it would only be for adults. However, kids would still see it as not being "that big of a deal" since it is legal....much like alcohol.

I don't think we have anything to gain by legalizing it. I know people will say that the government could then tax it and make more money. You think people who grow/deal marijuana are the types of people who will now all of a sudden start giving part of their profits up to the government in the form of taxes? I don't.

Why do you have the right to decide what is best for me ? Why should you impose your wishes on my mind and body ?
I'm sure serial killers say the same thing //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/rolleyes.gif.c1fef805e9d1464d377451cd5bc18bfb.gif As well as rapists, theives, child molesters, etc etc.

Sorry, but that's a pretty weak argument. "Why should you decide what's best for me?" Because that's part of the governments job; deciding what they do and don't want their public citizens doing, or how they do or don't want them behaving, and then passing laws accordingly. If you don't like it, go find a country that allows you the "liberties" you want.

But if you want to use that argument, "Why impose your wishes on my body," why stop at weed? Lets go ahead and legalize crack, heroin, Exctasy....all of them. I mean, that's us imposing our "wishes" upon their body, right?

And if serial killers want to kill, lets allow them to. I mean, who are we to decide what they can and can't do? Lets allow child molesters to run free because we shouldn't decide what is wrong or right for them to do.
