Marijuana causes cancer....

For the most part people don't know wtf they are talking about. If you got it from the guy who grew it though, I would think they would have a good idea what it is.
yea if you go through a reliable seed breeder like dutch passion, flying dutchman, greenhouse seeds, sensi seeds ect. they spent years crossing and backcrossing to develop a pretty stable strain with the least amount of phenos as possible. they provide the best genetics and they get a reputation of being what its cracked up to be

Smoking Marijuana

In the year 2000, it was estimated that of all highschool seniors, 48.8 percent of the population had already tried marijuana at least once in their life making it the most highly used illicit substance in America. With that being said it begs the question: Is marijuana really an epidemic sabotaging the futures of our nations youth or is it more of a cultural renaissance that is bringing enlightenment to a MTV brainwashed generation? The debate has been going on for decades now and the fact of the matter is each side's stances are irrelevant. As a soon to be pre-med student, I decided to cast both opinons aside and dive deep into the medical realm regarding smoking marijuana. No more political views of the pros and cons of a marijuana society and no more rants of world peace through enlightenment. Just hard medical facts of what smoking the ganja does to your body. Before we begin this journey I'd like to give you some background information on myself allowing you to see that I am as unbiased as possible. I spent nearly 60 percent of my highschool years as the epitome of a 'stoner'. There were months where I smoked marijuana atleast 4 to 5 times a week. I am no stranger to having a bloodstream containing THC(main chemical structure in marijuana). Most currently, I have come to the conclusion that marijuana no longer has a place in my life for reasons I choose to keep private. That being said, you can see that I have spent time on both side of the fence so with out further adieu the facts. The biggest misconception about smoking marijuana is how it compares to smoking cigarettes. I could not tell you how many times I've heard pot smokers say how smoking marijuana is far better for you than if you were to smoke tobacco. The fact is that marijuana smoke actually contains 50 to 70 percent more carcinogenic hydrocarbons than tobacco smoke and 4 times as much tar. What is worse is how the average pot smoker inhales deeper than a tobacco smoker in order to maximize the amount of THC delivered to the bloodstream. The long term effects of smoking marijuana regularly are no different than those of tobacco smokers. They face all the same pulmonary ailments such as chronic cough, increased phlegm production, acute chest illnes, heightened risk of lung infections, and obstructed airways. A study of 450 individuals found that people who smoke marijuana frequently but do not smoke tobacco have more health problems and miss more days of work than non smokers (1) Many of the extra sick days among the marijuana smokers were for respiratory illness. The next misconception I would like to discuss is the addictive properties of marijuana. If I had a dime for how many times Ive heard people say marijuana is not addictive I would be able to pay for medical school. The fact is that it being non addictive is very far from the truth. The long term use of marijuana effects the dopamine receptors in the brain. Dopamine is the chemical that is released as a reward system. When you do good and the feeling of achievement comes over you, that is dopamine. When you experience ****** orgasm, dopamine is released. When you smoke pot and THC is absorbed into your blood stream dopamine is released. Long term marijuana use changes these receptors and neurons so that the only time you can feel the effects of dopamine is when you smoke pot. Its the similar effect addicts of 'hard' drugs experience causing you to go through withdrawals when trying to stop marijuana use.(2) All these things are pretty bad but come on, no one ever dies from smoking marijuana right??? Wrong. One study found that a chronic marijuana smoker's risk of heart attack quadruples in the first hour of smoking marijuana(3) The results of the study show that the outcome can be explained by the fact that marijuana increases heart rate and blood pressure while reducing oxygen carrying capacity of the blood. So if youre wondering why you never hear of anyone dieing from smoking pot its because in the coroners office the cause of death is sighted as cardiac arrest instead of marijuana because far too many factors can cause cardiac arrest to rule out just one. The next medical myth I feel that needs to be put to rest is myth that smoking pot heightens your perceptions of the real world along with motor skills. This in my opinion is just plain stupid. Research has shown that marijuana's adverse impact on learning and memory can last for days or weeks even after the acute effects of the drug has worn off(4) So in conclusion, someone who smokes pot daily or even weekly is most likely opperating at a sub-optimal intellectual level all the time. In layman's terms you are retarding yourself! The final thing I would like to adress is the controversial use of marijuana medicinally. Marijuana is not used to treat cancer. It is used to treat cancer paitent symptoms preferably ones who are enduring chemo therapy. It is prescribed as a narcotic for pain relief and to help gain appetite. It is used in the same way to treat HIV and AIDS paitents. The argument that marijuana kills cancer cells does hold some water but you also have to keep in mind that it also kills perfectly healthy ones as well making it not a sucessful way to prevent cancer in any way more than chemo radiation. The catch to using marijuana as means to help cancer and HIV patients cope with their symptoms is that marijuana research shows that it statistically weakens the immune system jepordizing paitients with these diseases who already have a low white bloodcell count. In the end its still a topic up for debate among physicians. As for me, I decide to look at marijuana from a medical stand point. Hopefully you can do the same.
