I would say the mag is a SQL sub. It has hit some very impressive SPL numbers, but still is very clean.
As far as comparing it to an 06 XXX. I have never heard one of the new ones, but my guess would be that the 06 XXX would be much louder when compared to 1 mag. But for the price of the 06 XXX, you can almost get 2 mags, and in that case I would say that you would probably get more output out of two mags, than one XXX. But compared one to one I with the XXX's specs it should have more output.
how much power you have? i would think that with 1200 or less the mag would probably get louder? the mags are dual 2ohms as well so that mtx amp wouldn't work very well

Mags are good spl drivers and GREAT sq drivers.... i hit a 153 with 2 12s with about 3kw actual power....

power isnt a issue right now... i have a RF power 1501bd (birth sheet said 1633 rms) but i know i will need atleast 2k for the 06xxx so i will just buy another amp if needed... i only have enough room for 1 sub ported in a big box... if i could fit 2 of the old xxx i think that would be a better route to take but i am unsure how much room i need for all the dif. speakers out there... i know the specs are a way to find out but i also know that the specs they give are not the best ... everyone seems to make there boxes bigger there for i should only have room for 1 sub ported... so thats why i was wondering how the 2 of them compair... i know the new xxx is really expensive but if i can only fit one sub i want the best i could posibly get you know what i mean... i dont wanna have to buy sub after sub until i find the right one... i want to get it right the first time... so any help on this is extremely helpful.. thanks guys
