mach5 vs. idq

Well, i am interested in changin up my system. I was really thinking about mach5 just because they dont have many bad reviews if any and they are very cheap. I will prolly spend around $200 on the subs and then get the amp according to what output i need. How would say, 1 15" MAW sealed up with 500rms to it be compared to 1 15" IDQ sealed up with 500rms be? thanx guys

There was a comparison done on diy forums i believe. The guy said that ported, the tonality was very similar to his IDQ.

so they are approximately the same except the maw is like 1/2 the price. i understand that this is all installation dependent

I'd disagree with that, but maybe it was the setup I heard it in...

maw 15 will most likely have more output. idq have amazing sq. not sure if sealed a maw could compare. mine however stays with anything i have thrown at it. sealed at 2.45net. spl is decent, but i still have yet to pick up my mono amp from the repair shop so its still only getting 100-150rms. even off that its is fairly loud. hits the lows good in that box as well. i think more power will make the lows shine even more. great sub for the price imo. when i get my mono amp back i am sure it will a heck of alot louder. i've been waiting to really test this driver out, and soon i will get my chance.(this saturday).

edit i was beat to the output part, and you would want to have a good mis bass setup as well, in the box i have it in, you need good mids form around 80hz and up as the maw in the box i have drops off sharp around 80-85hz.

i would like to listen to a maw but i dont think anyone in my town knows what one is. I would be willing to drive to GA or NC to have a listen so i can compare but its so hard to find someone that has one around.

maybe i will just buy a maw and listen to it in the box that i have my IDQ in and if i like it i will get another one if not i will sell it. they are only what $80 new. Anyone have a used one they are willing to sell?
