Mach 460.....

I have a 2004 mustang cobra... I want to get a new headunit in my car. I know it has the mach 460 with its own set of amps. Now do I have to get a new amp for my mids and hi's? Is there a way to use an aftermarket head unit with the mach 460?? Or should I just get rid of it all together and use my JL 300/4 that I have in another vehicle???

also what is everyone (with a 99-04 mustang) running for subs in the trunk??

The trunk is a pain. As is the rear seat. Hence the reason my rear seat is becoming the hom for substage and amplifier rack. You can buy an adapter to adapt your HU to the Mach Amps, but you also have to deal with their built-in equalization and crossovers. IMO, for the best sound, ditch all the factory gear and go aftermarket.

Nice Snake BTW. Also, the trunk is the same for all SN-95s, so if you're going to do a search for people running subs in the trunk, you can go back as far as '94.

Now if I was to ditch all the factory gear.. could I still use the mach speakers???

Or would I be better off replacing those also?????

and if I am better off replacing them.. What are some good mids and high's( sorry for all the stupid questions I usually try to make my vehicles fast so I dont know much about stereo equipment LOL)

Yeah i'm in munster, i've dealt with the mach in my cousins Mustang, i beileve his is a 2000, i beielve the amp they use is pretty decent, it blends well with the 2 10" JL w3v2 in his car, lol i think i've seen your car around, but yet NW IN is like mustangville....

yeah u can run another headunit in your car, we put a cd/dvd player my cousins car, it was some deal he got off of ebay forgot what model it was

like they said trash the stock and go aftermarket, i've got a 2001 with the mach 460 it is just way easier to ditch the original crap. As for what sub in the trunk I'v got an MA Audio HK12X2 in a 3cu/ft box ported tuned to 35Hz. but soon i will taking out the rear seat to do a fun project.

I ditched my Mach system. It cost me a bit to have all of the speaker locations re-wired but the sound I have now was well worth it. I have a single 10" in my trunk and still have about 1/2 the space left. If I built a box for 2 10"s I'd probably be down to 1/3 the original trunk space.
