MA audio Bass Remote problem?

I got this MA audio hk401sx and ive had it for a few weeks but now i knotice once i turn the bass remote all the down it kicks the bass back and starts getting touchy. but once i move it up a little sounds good with no problems. Just wonderin if anyone else has had this problem. I think I'll probably just get rid of the remote seems like it hits harder with out it.
